Started to work in 2016
I’ve been doing graphic design since elementary school. In middle school, I began earning money by designing graphics for YouTubers and small companies. In 2016, I started a sports photography business with my parents' support.
During high school, I became interested in UI design, like many graphic designers of that era. I started designing websites for small businesses, dreaming of working on comprehensive digital products.
Headhounted on Hackathon in 2018
I participated in a local hackathon in my hometown and was awarded for the best design. A year later, my team and I won the grand prize, which inspired me to pursue development in those fields. We have regularly participated in hackathons across Poland.
After my first hackathon, I was recruited by Smart Factor, a company specializing in smart city systems, where I began working part-time and eventually became a hackathon mentor.
Full time since 2019
Since 2018, we have been working as the UNICODES team on websites and our own startup in the esports industry. In 2019, we successfully sold our first mobile app and shifted our focus to more complex projects. I must admit that I spent much more time working than in school, but I don’t regret it.
In 2020, Smart Factor invited me to design the ParkON app. After that, I felt the need to take a little break due to motivational issues and started streaming on Twitch full-time for six months.
In 2021, I returned to product design at Smart Factor.
Breakthrough in 2022
I began my journey at Humanit, a software house located in Wrocław, where I developed two products: Efectivo, a Warehouse Management System, and KO COACH, an Interactive Training Station for martial arts. We built a web application, terminal software, and a mobile app for Efectivo, as well as a station interface, management web app, and mobile app for KO COACH.
I gained invaluable experience there and aimed to enhance the design process each day. We established intricate design systems for our products, conducted tests and research, and I spearheaded the redesign of the mobile app for both Efectivo and KO COACH.
What inspires me
Design is everywhere, and everything has been designed. I’m constantly inspired by new places, architecture, food, and innovative products and services.
Every time I encounter something well-designed, it prompts me to think about the insights behind it, who it’s for, how it solves problems, or simply how it brings joy.
The projects I’ve completed at Humanit have helped me realize that there is so much more to design than just the digital experience.
My thoughts about Product Design
I place great importance on creating coherent and well-thought-out products and system designs, crafting interactions, and equipping developers with content that minimizes doubts and issues during implementation.
I aim for design processes to be effective, but I ensure that I don’t blindly apply everything I read in textbooks, as I believe the ideal process should be tailored to the specific needs of each project.
The key is to understand others' perspectives and feelings.
In my free time
I strive to maintain diversity in my activities and interests, which keeps me motivated at work.
I am passionate about computer games and game design, football, esports, geopolitics, traveling, as well as food and cooking, but my greatest passion is product design.
Some of my interests benefit my work, and I often find that similar mechanisms can be applied in entirely different environments.
